Bring your ideas. Find your collaborators. Help shape the future of neurological healthcare.
Our Innovation Challenge brings together researchers, healthcare professionals, technology developers, industry, and people with lived experience to explore innovative solutions to challenges in neurological healthcare.
Whether you have an idea to develop, expertise to contribute, a challenge you want to help solve, or are looking for collaborators, the Innovation Challenge is an opportunity to connect, collaborate and turn promising ideas into action.
Selected teams will receive up to £12,000 (industry route) or £30,000 (academic/research route) of funding to help develop and progress their ideas.
The Innovation Challenge focuses on three NHS shifts:
- Hospital to community — moving care out of hospitals and into local neighbourhoods (e.g. GP practices, community teams, neighbourhood health centres, and people’s own homes), so that hospitals are freed up to focus on specialist care and patients can access support closer to where they live.
- Analogue to digital — using technology and data (e.g. the NHS App, single patient records, and continuous monitoring) so patients can manage their own care and clinicians can spot problems earlier, replacing paper-based, disconnected systems with joined-up digital tools.
- Sickness to prevention — shifting focus from treating illness after it happens to stopping it happening in the first place, through earlier identification of risk, healthier lifestyles and proactive support, so people stay well for longer rather than only receiving care once they become unwell.
